Gillian Hughes - Research Assistant

Gillian joined the lab in 2021 for her MSc thesis where she explored the relationship between implicit mentalising and autistic traits in women with the fragile x premutation. She completed her MSc in psychological sciences at UCL in September 2022 and has continued to work as a research assistant in the Development Diversity Lab.

Gillian balances her position at the lab with her role as a research assistant at University of Surrey, where she continues to build upon her research experience at UCL. In this role, she explores social cognition, autistic traits, and mental health outcomes in women with the fragile X premutation.

Through her work at UCL and University of Surrey, she hopes to continue to strengthen her research skills as well as improve clinical and non-clinical support for women with the fragile X premutation.
